Email Update (8 Dec 08)
Our email system slowed to a virtual halt under the
strain of literally millions of spammed email messages
last week, to the point of system overload.
As such there are two key points to take note of:
1. At this time, there is a volume of emails still
undelivered from the past week. These have been
quarantined along with a massive volume of spam
email. Our engineers are busy working on sorting them,
prior to being forwarded on. This email delivery will
occur as soon as possible, and we regret any
inconvenience caused. For urgent emails, where possible,
contact the sender and request them resending time
sensitive material. Please note that when this back-log
of mail is sorted and sent from the old system, some spam
or junk mail may make it through.
2. The recent spam attacks resulted in DragNet bringing
forward its plan the install superior anti-spam equipment
to Thursday the 4th of December. While the installed
IronPort system itself is cutting edge and world-leading,
there may be a limited number of customers with unique
configurations within their email programs that may
require an update.
To check your email settings please refer to the following
page that contains information on configuration of your
email program >> here
If you are experiencing difficulty in sending email, please
make use of the contact page on the DragNet website for
technical support to contact you by return >> here
As a matter of interest, whilst viewing the statistics on
the new Iron Port Anti-Spam System, we have seen that since
Thursday it has scanned over 10 Million emails and found
that 98% of that volume is Spam. This system is of course
not a guarantee that some spam may make it through from
time to time, however we believe you will experience a
vastly superior service going forward.
Thank you for your patience and we appreciate your support.
Kind Regards,
The DragNet Team
